When there are dangers beyond what the normal authorities can stand against, they call in the Central City Defense force. Formed after the CalStar Communications satellite threatened to impact Central City at orbital speeds, the CCDF has been tirelessly defending Central City from the extreme every since. They have turned back natural disasters, hampered enhanced crime, and assisted in numerous charities. Seen as a city and cost saving measure, the CCDF’s only expenses have been their Headquarters, and an 8 person professional staff. All requests for their assistance are directly handled by the mayor’s office. Currently, they have a great media presence, even online. Their dedicated server receives 75 million visits a day, and at least one of their members can be seen on a major television broadcast at least every week, not including the numerous news reports about their exploits.
